Must have a valid code C driver's license with PRDP.
2-3 years’ experience.
Good supervision, human relations, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Sound mathematical and technical skills.
Sight, hearing and speech ability and must be physically fit and healthy.
Ability to give attention to detail and must act responsibly.
Ability to work under pressure and handle conflict.
Required to work in all weather conditions.
Required to work overtime and/or outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime.
Must perform duties in the whole municipal area.
Fluent in at least 2 of the 3 languages spoken in the Western Cape: Afrikaans, English, or IsiXhosa.

Duties:
Perform tasks and activities associated with general maintenance and repair work in the area of responsibility using handheld tools and equipment to carry out scheduled work sequences in defined areas,
Operate small plant machinery to break, crush and compact surfaces, pressure cleaning devices to clear blockages and remove debris from work areas.
See to that Sewerage blocked pipes are unblocked, and that the area is cleaned where the blockage has been removed. Also applicable with all pipe bursts and leakages.
Perform plumbing work.
Perform specific activities associated with the provision of support at work sites
Guided personnel with respect to specific maintenance applications through demonstrations and explanations on
specific sequences, assessing requirements, and communicating procedures and applications to personnel.
Attending to queries from personnel with regards to specific waste items, assessing and providing information on the need for separation or continuation with collection sequence
Cleaned work sites, equipment, tools, and load materials prior to departure from work site
Remove and wash off debris from tools and equipment.
Place and stack tools in the vehicle, observing sequences and procedures supporting safe transit.
Supervise the work carried out by subordinate staff to be according to set standards
Provide in-job training to new and existing personnel to ensure that work is carried out correctly
Monitored the performance of subordinate staff to ensure that work programmes were carried out according to schedule
Enforce safety practices in the workplace and ensure protective clothing is worn
Responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations are enforced by subordinate staff
Carry out inspections on site to ensure requirements are complied with
Monitor and control the issue of safety clothes and equipment to subordinate staff
Keep the vehicle logbook updated and maintained at all times for costing purposes
Submit log sheets once a week according to prescribed guidelines.
Report any faults to the immediate superior.
