Salary: R 174 862.02 per annum (Post level T6 of a Grade 4 Municipality)
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- 2 – 5 years of relevant administrative experience.
- A valid Computer Literacy Certificate (MS Applications)
- Good human relations, interpersonal and communication skills, and sound mathematical skills.
- Must be fit and healthy to carry out duties.
- Good eyesight, hearing, and speech ability.
- Must be able to function effectively in difficult working conditions.
- Must be mentally fit and able to do the work.
- Ability to give attention to detail and a high level of responsibility.
- Ability to work under pressure and to handle conflict.
- Fluent in at least 2 of the 3 languages spoken in the Western Cape, Afrikaans, English or IsiXhosa.
- Please note: A performance agreement is also applicable to this position whereby the employer reserves the right to institute a performance management program.
Duties:
- Collect & File Budget Inputs from all Departments
- Capture Budget Inputs on the Financial System for review by the Accountant, Budget & Assets
- Compile monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and Annual Grant Reporting Templates for review by the Accountant, Budget & Assets
- Review the Funding Segment of the mSCOA Budget to ensure grant expenditures are allocated against grant funding.
- Maintain Budget Parameters on the Financial System to ensure that the Budget is aligned with the Municipal Standard Chart of Accounts (mSCOA) and that reporting templates can be extracted from the Financial System
- Extract financial data and update Budget Reports for distribution to the different departments
- Receive and keep a record of all requests for Budget Virements and submit a request for virements to the Accountant Budget
- Inform relevant departments of the completion of requirements
- Receive and file all Departmental Request for Internal Recoveries & Charges
- Prepare a monthly journal for the charge-out of Insurance cost to different departments.
- Provide a full support function to the immediate superior in obtaining information to be included in the A, B & C Budget Schedules and prepare a journal to allocate the internal chargers and recoveries.
- Provide assistance and information regarding requirements for adherence to preset deadlines and due dates.
- Perform duties of Budget Virements when the Accountant, Budgets & Assets, is on leave.
- Interact constantly with: Internal personnel and Departments.
- Promote the Section's and Council's service delivery objectives during all communications.
