converse 23.5cm began in 1908 specialising in galoshes and seasonal rubber footwear. Using the techniques from making store seasonal pieces converse 23.5cm expanded into sneakers and in 1920 rebranded their basketball sneaker the ‘All Star’. The bold stuck but the converse 23.5cm shoe became a cult icon - artists, musicians, skateboarders, mums, and dads all wore the ‘All Star’ in their own way and has hardly changed in nearly 100 years.
