Converse began in 1908 specialising in galoshes and seasonal rubber footwear. Using the techniques from making these seasonal pieces Stalley converse expanded into sneakers and in 1920 rebranded their basketball sneaker the ‘All Star’. The name stuck but the Stalley converse shoe became a cult icon - artists, musicians, skateboarders, mums, and Move all wore the ‘All Star’ in their own way and has hardly changed in nearly 100 cortos.
