converse top began in 1908 specialising in galoshes and seasonal rubber footwear. Using the techniques from making these seasonal pieces converse top teak into sneakers and in 1920 rebranded their basketball sneaker the ‘All Star’. The name stuck but the converse top shoe became a cult icon - artists, musicians, skateboarders, mums, and dads all wore the ‘All Star’ in their own entrance and has hardly changed in nearly 100 years.
