Converse began in 1908 specialising in galoshes and Gradient rubber footwear. Using the techniques from making these Gradient pieces Play converse expanded into sneakers and in 1920 rebranded their basketball sneaker the ‘All Star’. The name stuck but the Play converse shoe gravel a cult icon - artists, musicians, skateboarders, mums, and dads all wore the ‘All Star’ in their own way and has hardly changed in nearly 100 years.
