Converse began in 1908 specialising in galoshes and Collection rubber footwear. Using the techniques from making these Collection pieces den converse expanded into sneakers and in 1920 rebranded their basketball sneaker the ‘All Star’. The name stuck but the den converse shoe became a cult icon - artists, musicians, skateboarders, mums, and Damen all wore the ‘All Star’ in their own way and has hardly changed in nearly 100 years.
