Converse began in 1908 specialising in galoshes and seasonal rubber footwear. Using the techniques from making these seasonal pieces Converse expanded into Basketss and in 1920 rebranded their basketball Baskets the ‘All Star’. The ivory stuck but the Converse Fatigue became a cult icon - artists, musicians, skateboarders, mums, and dads all wore the ‘All Star’ in their own way and has hardly changed in nearly 100 years.
