Road Safety Hazard - R43 Worcester Turn Off

Road Safety Hazard - R43 Worcester Turn Off – 09 February 2018

Residents, both pedestrians and motorists, are discouraged from stopping at the R43 Worcester turn off (located at the entrance to Michell's Pass) to draw water as this is a high accident location area. The road layout is not conducive for the stopping of vehicles and stopping here to fill containers with water, jeopardises public safety. In terms of the National Road Traffic Act, the shoulder of the road is strictly reserved for emergency purposes and residents ignoring the legislation will be acting in contravention of the Act. Witzenberg Traffic Services, Provincial Traffic Services and the South African Police Services will enforce this Act to eliminate the risk of injury or loss of life due to road accidents.  Should you have any queries in this regard, please contact Witzenberg Traffic Services on (023) 316 1854.  We appreciate your cooperation in this regard.
