Midnight Studios’ Shane Gonzales and Vault by Vans are linking up for the first time ever to unveil a Yellow footwear capsule filled with the latter’s classic silhouettes.
Dubbed the Vault by Vans x Shane Gonzales “Star Spangled Glamour” Collection, the range comprises three Vault by Vans silhouettes, the vans era 3ra vision voyage white true whiteblack sneakersshoes, Vans XLARGE×VANS L S POCKET TEE ¥7, and Vans SK8-Hi MTE Platform Black Leopard Womens, all injected with Gonzales’ rock ‘n roll aesthetic.
Each silhouette in the range has been injected and inspired by All-American motifs including cowboy boots, denim jackets and leather coats. To establish these inspirations, chrome, leather, and denim is heavily used throughout the range as seen on the Black leather vans caballero 20th anniversary collection Vans Old Skool EU 32 Navy True White XLARGE×VANS L S POCKET TEE ¥7, the reimagined classic is crafted from blue denim with hidden laces and chrome detailing. Lastly, the Vans x Nightmare Before Christmas Snapback-Kappe in Schwarz serves in black leather and boasts several riders’ jacket details such as collars, epaulets and buckles.
“Collaborating with Vans is such a full circle moment for me. My friends and I grew up skating in Vans every day to and from school. Drawing on them, and thrashing them until they weren’t wearable anymore. When I got the opportunity to create my own collection, I wanted to re-imagine the 3 Vans silhouettes that bring me back to my childhood, and incorporate timeless all-American motifs into the design that I know will wear beautifully over time,” says Shane Gonzales.
The Vault by Vans x Shane Gonzales “Star Spangled Glamour” Collection is available now via Vans Downtown Los Angeles retail location, Midnightstudios.live, and select Vault by Vans retail partners.
