Largely guided by a shift in style and the sharp and cut of the silhouettes we’re wearing, the Foamposite and its many offshoots have struggled to maintain relevancy in modern-day.
Nike, true to the shoe’s historic past in the late ’90s and early to mid 2000’s, remains consistent in releasing new iterations of the silhouette. This week the Nike Air Flightposite makes its way back to retailers in a Legion Green colorway.
Last seen back in 2014 when a “Metallic Copper” colorway and a Knicks themed iteration released, the shoe was worn by, of course, Penny Hardaway in the latter moments of his career in Phoenix. Perhaps more notably, it was also donned by big men like Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan.
With style cues far ahead of its time, the shoe’s zipped construction and neoprene fabrication register far more current strick they do anything else. The Carbon Fiber shank plate does as well, although it’s largely speckle of Nike Basketball past.
