Salary: R 987 238 – R 1 124 899 – R 1 276 762
Minimum requirements: * At least a Bachelor Degree or a relevant qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework at NQF level 7 with a minimum of 360 credits.
* A minimum of five years' experience at senior management level; and have proven successful institutional transformation within public or private sector * Comply with all legislative competency requirements. * Good knowledge and understanding of relevant policies and local government legislation * Good knowledge and understanding of institutional governance systems and performance management * Knowledge and understanding of the key responsibility areas of the position. * Knowledge of municipal government and administration, statutory and regulatory environment. * An understanding of the integrated nature of an effective municipal administration. * The ability to engage strategically with Executive Councillors, communities and residents.* An appreciation of the centrality of the IDP for effective service delivery. *A high degree of aptitude to strategic/ operational planning and management, decision making, leadership, innovation and motivation.* General management skills, computer skills and valid driver's license.* Where an applicant does not have the required Minimum Competencies as required by the MFMA, the applicant must obtain the required modules within 18 months of appointment.
Key performance areas: Manage the operations of parks, sport facilities, cemeteries, resorts and other public facilities. Manage the rendering of disaster and fire services to ensure the safety of the community.
Manage municipal rental stock and the maintenance thereof.
Manage Human settlements administration and support services to address housing needs in the municipal area. Manage the rendering of community/social development, library and information services.
