The purpose of the NARYSEC Programme is to empower unemployed rural youth with skills, leadership capabilities, patriotism and economic opportunities in their districts.

Linked to the National Development Plan (Vision 2030), the strategic outcomes of the NARYSEC programme are:

1. Skilled rural youth ready to take up economic opportuni­ ties.
2. Economically active youth in rural areas
3. Youth-led enterprises contributing to the economy of the country; and
4. Young vibrant, disciplined, patriotic change agents.

NARYSEC is an acronym for "National Rural Youth Service Corps" (NARYSEC) whose aim is to enhance skills develop­ ment by providing unemployed rural youth with opportuni­ ties to work in their communities and to be trained to pro­ vide the necessary services for local socio-economic devel­ opment.

Successful applicant will be required to be away from home for a period of about 4 months attending Leadership Devel­ opment Training and again be away from home to partici­ pate in skills programmes.
